Rise Awards 2024 Winners

Celebrate diversity in broadcast media technology with the Rise Awards 2024 winners. Discover top talents, innovations, and advocates who have made outstanding contributions

The fifth annual Rise Awards lit up London’s Troxy venue on Tuesday, celebrating exceptional talent and achievements in the broadcast media technology sector. Hosted by Rise, the advocacy group championing gender diversity, the event honored winners in 14 categories, alongside presenting two special awards for outstanding contributions to the industry.

The 2024 ceremony attracted a record-breaking 424 nominations from countries including Australia, the United States, Malaysia, and across Europe. With over 400 guests in attendance, the sold-out event underscored the global reach of Rise’s mission to spotlight women and diversity advocates in the field. For those unable to attend in person, the ceremony was streamed live on Rise’s YouTube channel, supported by Cuescript, DCE, and Warner Chappell Music.

2024 Rise Awards Highlights

The coveted Woman of the Year Award, sponsored by Zixi, was awarded to Megan Mauck, Senior Vice President of Media Operations at NBCUniversal. Lesley McGilp, General Manager of Sign Language Translation at Red Bee Media, received the Special Recognition Award for her transformative work in accessibility services.

Winners were chosen across a variety of categories, recognising excellence in technical operations, innovation, advocacy, and leadership. The judges also highlighted groundbreaking work by students and emerging talent, awarding Amy Woods from Southampton Solent University the Student of the Year Award.

Global Recognition for Diversity and Talent

This year’s event, held in partnership with Sky and EMG / Gravity Media, further cemented the Rise Awards as a platform for celebrating diversity and innovation. Nominees and winners alike continue to break barriers in roles traditionally underrepresented by women and minorities.
