DAZN teams with Techex and TAG for FIFA Club World Cup 2025™

DAZN, a leading sports entertainment platform, has transformed its live monitoring capabilities to support the global broadcasting of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025

A new, scalable, flexible and centralised infrastructure has been deployed to enhance worldwide coverage of the FIFA Club World Cup. The upgrade was carried out in collaboration with Techex and TAG Video Systems to support the broadcast requirements.

The FIFA Club World Cup spanned 63 matches, and DAZN delivered every match live and free to fans worldwide. With global rights to the tournament, DAZN required an infrastructure capable of supporting the sporting event. To meet that demand, working in partnership with Techex, DAZN built a new 2110-based global Master Control Room (MCR) in Leeds, UK.

The system now provides centralised control to more than 5000 unique video sources and 300 mosaic layouts. It is powered by TAG’s Media Control System (MCS) and managed through a redundant central interface. This setup reduces bandwidth usage, eliminates infrastructure duplication and enables any source to be routed to any operator or screen without reconfiguration.

David Christmas, head of broadcast project engineering at DAZN, explained the infrastructure requirements. “With the number of different feeds and variants required for DAZN’s broadcasting of the FIFA Club World Cup – on top of our usual workload – flexibility and scalability were the priority to ensure our Master Control Room (MCR) was monitoring as effectively as possible,” Christmas said.

This solution not only focused on the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 but also aimed to meet DAZN’s future needs. “This project gives DAZN the agility to deliver live sports coverage at a global scale,” said Kevin Joyce, zero friction officer at TAG Video Systems. “Together with Techex, we’ve built a monitoring platform that enables smarter operations, faster response and lower operational risk.”
