Appear X Platform SRT-verified for YouTube Live streaming
Appear secures YouTube SRT verification for its X Platform, expanding reliable live streaming for news, sports and event coverage to global audiences

Secure Reliable Transport (SRT) has become a key protocol for delivering low-latency live video over the internet. Now, Appear, a global supplier of live production technology, has announced that its X Platform is officially verified by YouTube for SRT live streaming. This verification enables broadcasters, rights holders and production teams to deliver high-quality content to YouTube using Appear’s X5, X10 and X20 hardware platforms.
“Becoming a YouTube-verified encoder partner is a significant step forward for us and our customers,” says Thomas Bostrøm Jørgensen, CEO at Appear. “It reinforces our position in professional-grade IP contribution and gives our users a powerful new route to reach global audiences across one of the most important platforms in digital media.”
The partnership between Appear and YouTube was driven by real-world customer demand. This culminated in full verification for Appear’s hardware-based AVC/HEVC encoding and SRT streaming, further expanding Appear’s reach across a broader ecosystem of FAST, OTT and hybrid broadcasters.
Beyond Appear’s verification, the company was recently invited to speak at LiveCon 2025, YouTube’s annual live-streaming summit, which took place in December. At the event, Appear discussed how its SRT-enabled X Platform is empowering rights holders and sports federations of all sizes to take control of their live content, reach underserved audiences and drive global engagement. By democratising access to high-quality live production technology, Appear is enabling even the most niche sports to connect with fans worldwide.
