LiveU partners with Kinetiq on cloud-native watermarking

Broadcasters can now protect, track and monetise live content at scale thanks to the recent collaboration between LiveU and Kinetiq

Watermarking provides a reliable way to identify and monitor the use of live content. Building on this technology, LiveU, a leading provider of live IP-video workflows, has announced a partnership with Kinetiq, developer of the Teletrax watermarking technology. This new integration enables broadcasters to apply secure, traceable markers to live content within their cloud-native distribution workflow, without extra hardware.

LiveU Matrix is a cloud-based platform for sharing high-quality and low-latency live video feeds. It’s used by broadcasters, sports organisations and public safety teams to distribute content at scale without dedicated infrastructure. Used by more than 5000 customers in 150 countries, the platform scales globally and continues to work within the wider LiveU EcoSystem.

As for Teletrax, Kinetiq’s AI-powered watermarking is designed to add a layer of protection to live video feeds. The technology embeds invisible identifiers into content, letting broadcasters track where and how it’s used. By using Kinetiq’s tools, news, sports, government and entertainment organisations can monitor content across more than 6000 broadcast and digital platforms.

Through the partnership between LiveU and Kinetiq, clients can insert Teletrax watermarks at the point of capture within the cloud. Christian Diehl, senior director of product management at LiveU, commented on the benefits of this collaboration. “This integration gives customers a flexible, cost-effective alternative to legacy infrastructure, pairing LiveU’s premium-grade transmission with trusted watermarking technology, all in the cloud.”

The integration is available today for customers who partner with both LiveU and Teletrax.
