Mediatech Africa 2026 spotlights on technology convergence
Mediatech Africa 2026 unites AV, broadcast, pro audio, lighting and content creation, offering three days of innovation, live demos and industry insights

Mediatech Africa is setting the tone for its 2026 edition with a theme that captures where the technology industry is heading next. Running from 30 June to 2 July at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit in Johannesburg, the show will centre on the theme: Converge. Connect. Create.
Since the event’s launch in 2001, Mediatech Africa has grown to mirror South Africa’s distributor-focused technology market. As a result, broadening the show’s offering to include AV integration, pro audio, lighting, staging and content creation is a natural response to how local companies operate.
“Truthfully, it wasn’t part of some grand plan,” says Simon Robinson, show director of Mediatech Africa. “Our distributors were already working across sectors, so it made sense for the show to do the same.”
The 2026 edition of Mediatech Africa promises three days of hands-on technology showcases, live demonstrations and networking opportunities. From smart classrooms and control rooms to stadiums, houses of worship and broadcast studios, Mediatech Africa remains the place where industry sectors meet and collaborate.
Looking beyond South Africa, Robinson notes that the same pattern of convergence is playing out internationally. “ISE started purely as an AV integration show and has adapted to the needs of the market. It is now attracting a large number of live event technology and broadcast AV brands.” This shift underscores why Mediatech Africa continues to expand its remit beyond traditional sector boundaries.
Look out for a chance to register for Mediatech Africa in February.
