Netgear and Riedel team up to advance AV-Over-IP solutions

Netgear’s managed switches meet Riedel’s MediorNet video infrastructure technologies in a new partnership set to streamline IP-based signal distribution

Combining Netgear’s knowledge in intelligent networking with Riedel Communications’ innovative tools that power live production, the two companies are teaming up to advance AV-over-IP technology. As a first step, the collaboration brings together Netgear AV’s managed switches in the M4350 series with Riedel’s MediorNet MuoN A processing SFPs that have also been used by Forward Thinking Designs. This initiative aims to deliver ST 2110 Gateway functionality for decentralised signal distribution over standard IP networks.

The partnership looks for ways to enhance reliability for customers. “With the transition to IP now in full swing in the broadcast market, it’s important for integrators and their customers to have the kind of solid, totally reliable and easy-to-implement solutions that come with a partnership between industry leaders like Riedel and Netgear,” said Richard Jonker, vice president of marketing and business development at Netgear.

Riedel is rolling out Netgear’s M4350-16V4C Fully Managed Switch (VSM4320C) globally. This high-performance technology supports 25G and 100G connections and SMPTE ST 2110 timing, providing the reliable connectivity needed for AV-over-IP in broadcast, live events and commercial installations.
