Riedel powers media infrastructure at BAPS Robbinsville

The third largest Hindu temple in the US is bringing ceremonies and events to life with technology from Riedel

Riedel Communications has partnered with BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham to implement a new media and communications infrastructure. Using Riedel’s MediorNet and Bolero systems, BAPS now has a scalable and intuitive solution. Installed in early 2023, the system is fully operational across the temple’s expansive Robbinsville, New Jersey campus.

“With so many different events and services happening across our campus, we needed a system that could keep up without overwhelming our volunteers,” said Prem Patel, one of many volunteers at BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham. “Riedel’s solution has been a game-changer. It’s reliable, easy to use and incredibly flexible.”

BAPS chose Riedel’s MediorNet for its hybrid IP-SDI flexibility. The installation includes 14 nodes across shrines, worship spaces and event venues. Portable flypacks have also been deployed to simplify mobile production and enable campus-wide network expansion with minimal cabling.

A central fibre patch panel and MediorWorks control app allow operators to manage video routing, robotic PTZ cameras and live streaming from a centralised control room. Extra fibre was also pre-installed to futureproof the system and reduce long-term costs.

Riedel’s Bolero system powers wireless communication at BAPS, featuring an Artist-1024 intercom frame, 15 wireless beltpacks, four antennas and 15 Air headsets. This setup ensures reliable communication for camera operators, stage managers and volunteers. With a consistent system across all locations, the new infrastructure is intuitive enough for its volunteer staff to operate.

The Riedel team is now headed to the Javits Center from 22–23 October for NAB Show New York 2025. Here, they are set to showcase their powerful MediorNet and Bolero systems.
