Spain’s public broadcaster selects Alfalite Neopix screens

Advanced LED screens position Spain’s RTVE to deliver sharper visuals and more personalised viewer experiences across its Madrid production facilities

Spain’s national public broadcaster, RTVE, has upgraded one of its main television production facilities in Madrid with the installation of two Alfalite Neopix 1.5 MATIX AlfaCOB LED screens. This development marks the first-ever deployment of Neopix technology in a broadcast environment.

The installation of a curved screen and a secondary display are both designed to meet the demanding requirements of daily television production. These screens will serve as the primary visual background for news, current affairs and interview-based programming.

Delivered in collaboration with Alfalite’s technology partner, Datos Media Technologies, the project features NEOPIX screens with a 1.5mm pixel pitch, ideal for broadcast environments.

The project also integrates Matix AlfaCOB, Alfalite’s proprietary Chip-on-Board (COB) technology, which enhances LED protection, improves visual uniformity and optimises thermal dissipation.

David Martínez, COO of Datos Media Technologies, concludes, “The integration of the Alfalite NEOPIX 1.5 MATIX AlfaCOB LED screens was completed smoothly and within a very short timeframe, without disrupting ongoing broadcast operations. This project confirms the suitability of the solution for high-pressure broadcast environments and its ability to be efficiently deployed in fully operational studios.”

This upgrade to RTVE’s production facilities complements the broadcaster’s wider push to enhance viewer experience, building on its success with AI‑driven recommendations and personalised OTT services.
