Using Bitmovin to track video playback on Akamai Cloud
Bitmovin’s Observability for video playback is now available on Akamai Cloud, giving streaming providers real-time insight into performance

The launch of Bitmovin’s Observability on Akamai Cloud for AMP2 delivers improved streaming efficiency, real-time monitoring and tighter service integration. With Bitmovin’s streaming infrastructure and Akamai Cloud’s delivery platform, streaming providers will gain a clearer view of playback performance.
Bitmovin’s Observability on Akamai Cloud helps streaming providers to track, monitor and analyse video streams in real-time. This functionality makes it easier to deliver actionable insights into viewer experience and ad performance.
As part of Bitmovin’s rebrand, Bitmovin’s Observability for video playback expands upon the capabilities of its predecessor, Analytics. This solution is designed to provide richer visualisation tools, enhanced data models, real-time alerts and faster event tracking.
Observability is joining Bitmovin’s Live and VOD Encoders, which already run on Akamai Cloud. Together, these solutions enable customers to access high-efficiency video workflows while benefiting from integration with Akamai’s global content delivery network. This new deployment also follows the launch of AMP2, which aims to simplify media delivery through hands-free maintenance.
“Bringing Bitmovin’s Observability to the globally distributed Akamai Cloud marks a major milestone in our long-standing collaboration with Akamai,” says Stefan Lederer, CEO and co-founder of Bitmovin. “This integration reflects our commitment to empowering streaming providers with data-driven visibility and the ability to deliver seamless, high-quality viewing experiences across every device and platform.”
Bitmovin proves that personalisation pays. By using viewer insights to make experiences more relevant, platforms boost engagement and turn it into profit.
