From global cricketing tournaments to multi-sport events, chart-topping concerts and industry-defining expos, 2026 is shaping up to be a landmark year for broadcast across the Asia-Pacific region. Here’s your guide to APAC’s unmissable broadcast moments in 2026.

Men’s T20 World Cup – India, Sri Lanka (7 February – 8 March)

Already well into the tournament, the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is the tenth edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka. You can follow the rest of the tournament and watch every game live on Sky Sports. The highly anticipated final takes place on Sunday 8 March at either Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad or R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.

AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026 (1-21 March)

The 21st edition of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup will be competed by the women’s national teams in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). Australia is the host country for the latest edition, with three host cities: Perth, Sydney and Gold Coast. The tournament also serves as the final stage of Asian qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil. China will be looking to hold their title as defending champions. Paramount+ will broadcast every game, so you don’t miss any of the action.

Seventeen World Tour – National Stadium, Singapore (7 March)

K-pop fans in Singapore can look forward to another major concert night as Seventeen returns in March 2026 as part of their Seventeen World Tour. The concert will feature hits from their 10th-anniversary album Happy Burstday, as well as solo tracks. Fans will be hoping the 13-member include fan favourites such as Don’t Wanna Cry, Hot and Super.

Broadcast Asia 2026 – Singapore (20-22 May)

As part of Asia Tech x Singapore (ATxSG), Broadcast Asia 2026 is the premier event for media and entertainment professionals, exploring AI-driven solutions and cloud production. Featuring over 1,000 exhibitors and 20,000+ professionals, the event provides a platform where the industry’s key players converge to shape the future of broadcast.

Summer Sonic 2026 – Tokyo, Osaka (14-16 August)

The festival is one of Japan’s premier music events, held simultaneously in Tokyo and Osaka. The Summer Sonic 2026 line-up will feature artists such as The Strokes, L’Arc-en-Ciel, Jamiroquai, Jennie (Blackpink), FKA twigs, Le Sserafim, Kasabian, David Byrne, Alex Warren, Suede, Kodaline, Pendulum, Cornelius, Hitsujibungaku, Tatsuya Kitani, Suchmos and BUMP OF CHICKEN. WOWOW On-Demand has been the exclusive broadcaster for previous events.

2026 Asian Games – Japan (19 September – 4 October)

Following the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Asian Games are the next major sporting event in the region. The 2026 edition will be celebrated around Aichi Prefecture in Japan from 19 September to 4 October 2026. Nagoya is the third Japanese city to host the Asian Games, after Tokyo in 1958 and Hiroshima in 1994. Tokyo Broadcasting System (TBS) will broadcast the Games in Japan.

Singapore Grand Prix 2026 (9-11 October)

The Singapore Grand Prix will return as a Sprint weekend host at Marina Bay Street Circuit. The circuit is one of the most physically demanding on the calendar. The event will be broadcast on Sky Sports and Channel 4 in the UK and on Apple TV in the US.

2026 Rugby League World Cup (15 October – 15 November)

Following the withdrawal of France as the host nation in 2023, the men’s tournament was postponed to 2026. Australia, Papua New Guinea and New Zealand set about to be the new host countries of the Rugby League World Cup. Moreover, following a recent controversial decision, the competition will only feature 10 teams as opposed to 16. Sky Sport New Zealand and Seven Network will broadcast the games.

The Women’s Rugby League World Cup and Wheelchair Rugby League World Cup will run parallel, with both tournaments only featuring eight teams due to rescheduling.

2026 Asian Para Games – Japan (18-24 October)

The Games are set to be held around Aichi Prefecture in Japan from 18 to 24 October 2026. Nagoya will be the first Japanese city to host the Asian Para Games, with Paloma Mizuho Stadium serving as the main venue.

Broadcast India 2026 – Mumbai (22-24 November)

The event is set to place at the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai. Broadcast India (BI) is an integral part of Asia’s Broadcasting and Infotainment Show (ABIS), the umbrella brand that brings together three leading events: the Broadcast India Show, the Content India Show and the SCAT India Trade Show.
